Operational Responsibilities

• Neighborhood Route Execution: Navigate a densely packed urban or suburban route. You will execute a mix of "park and loop" (walking block to block with a heavy leather satchel) and mounted delivery (delivering directly from the vehicle to curbside mailboxes).
• Precision Mail Casing: Start your morning inside the post office, utilizing incredible mental agility to "case" (sort) thousands of pieces of raw mail into the exact geographical sequence of your street route.
• Postal Vehicle Operation: Safely pilot the iconic right-hand-drive Long Life Vehicle (LLV) or the newer Next Generation Delivery Vehicle (NGDV), mastering right-side driving and strict postal safety protocols.
• Accountable Mail Management: Utilize specialized scanning devices to track certified mail, registered parcels, and international packages, capturing required customer signatures at the door.

Requirements

Candidates must be at least 18 years old. You must possess a valid U.S. driver's license with a safe driving record spanning at least two continuous years. Exceptional physical stamina is an absolute requirement; you must be capable of lifting up to 70 pounds, walking several miles daily, and working in extreme heat, heavy rain, and freezing snow. A comprehensive federal background check, medical assessment, and drug screening are mandatory.
