Deliver Power Directly to the Customer

Pep Boys is innovating how customers receive automotive service. Stranded drivers don't always have the ability to drive to the shop. As a Mobile Battery Delivery & Install Tech, you are a specialized hybrid: an auto parts delivery driver and a mobile mechanic. You will drive a customized service vehicle, responding to urgent dispatch calls to deliver new car batteries directly to the customer's stranded vehicle and executing the physical installation on the spot. This is the perfect role for gearheads who want a highly active, customer-facing role outside the walls of a traditional garage.

Mobile Service Operations

• Emergency Dispatch Routing: Respond rapidly to mobile battery installation requests. You will navigate your service truck through city traffic to reach stranded motorists in parking lots, driveways, or highway shoulders safely.
• On-Site Technical Installation: You are not just dropping off the part. You will physically remove the old battery, clean the terminals, and safely install the new heavy-duty battery under the hood of the customer's vehicle.
• Diagnostic Testing: Utilize advanced digital multimeters to test the customer's alternator and starter to ensure the battery is the actual root cause of the failure.
• Customer Hero: Act as the savior of the customer's day. You must provide incredibly empathetic, warm, and professional customer service to stressed drivers.

Requirements

Must be 21+ years of age with a pristine driving record. Must possess verifiable, basic automotive mechanical skills (specifically the safe removal and installation of car batteries). You must have the physical strength to lean over engine bays while lifting 40-50 lb batteries repeatedly. A strong customer-service mindset and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions are mandatory.
