Operational Responsibilities & Daily Execution

Your day begins at a bustling FedEx terminal. Before hitting the road, you are responsible for inspecting your vehicle and ensuring your daily manifest is perfectly organized to maximize route efficiency. Your core duties include:

• High-Volume Route Mastery: Navigate a densely packed, pre-planned digital route. You will deliver upwards of 100 to 150+ packages daily to a mix of residential neighborhoods, apartment complexes, and commercial business districts, requiring you to hit strict time-commitments (especially for FedEx Express overnight air parcels).
• Commercial Vehicle Operation: Safely pilot a FedEx-branded step van, box truck, or cargo van in diverse conditions—from tight urban alleys to expansive suburban subdivisions. You must perform rigorous Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections daily.
• Advanced Scanning & Data Integrity: Utilize proprietary FedEx handheld scanners (the sequence device) to track packages at every touchpoint, capture required customer signatures for high-value goods, and manage your electronic manifest flawlessly.
• Extreme Material Handling: Execute the heavy physical demands of the logistics industry. You must possess the athletic stamina to continuously lift, lower, and carry packages weighing up to 75 pounds (frequently utilizing a hand truck for heavier, 150 lb bulk stops) without assistance, climbing stairs and walking miles per day.

Requirements & Qualifications

To pilot a FedEx vehicle, candidates must meet strict safety and legal requirements. You must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid U.S. driver's license with an exceptionally clean motor vehicle record (MVR). Because you are operating a regulated commercial vehicle, you must possess or be able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical medical exam. Exceptional physical stamina is an absolute requirement to meet the 75+ lb lifting guidelines. A comprehensive background check and drug screening are mandatory.
